Simon Vinkenoog is a Dutch writer. During his carrier, he also produced ceveral artworks, mostly paintings and drawings. At age 21 he started the Dutch magazine Blurb. In the period 1950-51, Eight numbers were published. Some were made together with other experimental writers such as: Hans Andreus, Armando, Hugo Claus, Jan Hanlo, W.F. Hermans en Hans Lodeizen. Together with the magazine Braak, Blurb initiated the period of 'De Vijftigers'.
During his life, Vinkenoog has experimented a lot with hallucinogene drugs. Vinkenoog is still active as writer and artist.
On July, 12th 2009, Simon Vinkenoog passed away in Amsterdam due to a cerebral haemorrhage.
