Dan Van Severen
Dan Van Severen was a Belgian representative of the abstract of painting. His art is built on simple geometric shapes: square, rectangle, diamond, circle and oval.
In particular the modesty and austerity of his art typifies the work of this geometric abstract. His drawings sometimes consisted of a single line. From the combination of square and rectangle he develloped the cross shape, the universal sign, which formed the main key in his further work. During Expo 58 he united with friends and acquaintances from the avant-garde scene to the G58 group.
His work has been exhibited at the SMAK, the M HKA in Mu.ZEE, among others.
