Jan Henderikse - Works on paper 1957
Recent research led to the discovery of a map with almost seventy works on paper of 1957 of Jan Henderikse.
From the early 1960s, Jan Henderikse got well known with his readymades and assemblages made out of corks, coins and bric-a-brac. The Nul group, founded in 1961 by Armando, Jan Henderikse, Henk Peeters and Jan Schoonhoven, stood for a new form of art, as an opposite to the classical and traditional painting. That way they soon came in contact with the international ZERO movement.
In 2014 and 2015, the work by these Dutch artists, will be shown in the many upcoming international ZERO exhibitions. The most important museal intitiatives will be in the New York Guggenheim Museum, the Gropius Bau in Berlin and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.
Galerie Schoots + Van Duyse and Kunstzolder.be are proud to present you a selection of the unique and rarely seen works on paper from 1957. We will present them together with our new publication about the artists informal period.
