Gregorio Vardanega was born in Italy, but moved with his family to Buenos Aires when he was very young. Together with his wife Martha Boto, he was a member of the kinetic and optical art movement. They where both pulled to Paris by galerie Denise René to work and live there.
Under the impulse of the avant garde mentality that the artists around Denise René shared, he realized kinetic and electric-powered artworks. His work links strongly to the minimalist and geometric abstraction, but is reinforced with three-dimensional shapes and the use of movement, sound and light.
